ExtrudaSeal Launches New Through-Colour Foam Gasket

ExtrudaSeal has announced the launch of AeroSeal, its pioneering new through-colour aluminium bi-fold door foam gasket.

Developed by specialist extruder as part of its continuous research and development programme, AeroSeal combines superior performance and weather sealing, with ease of installation.

Ideally suited to dynamic applications, high performance foam, provides greater ‘memory’ than traditional gasket systems.

This is combined with a co-extruded rigid foot, which prevents the foam from being stretched during installation. This is simplified further through either click-and-fit or slide-in options.

Chris Byers, Managing Director ExtrudaSeal said: “We have had the capacity to extrude foam seals for a little while so in this sense it’s not a new technology and performance is proven.

“What makes AeroSeal different is that we’re co-extruding foam with a rigid foot. This is absolutely critical, in that it eliminates any issues around shrinkage because it can’t be over-stretched.

“As a through-coloured system, AeroSeal is also very durable and if it is damaged, that damage doesn’t show because unlike some other systems which use a ‘skin’ to weather protect the foam, colour is consistent throughout.”

“The net effect is an easy to install but very high performance and durable foam gasket.”

Extruded in black or white finishes, AeroSeal is currently available for use on systems from Smarts and Sapa – amongst others.

As well as delivering improved seals and weather and thermal performance, AeroSeal also provides improved acoustic installation over traditional systems.

Chris added: “This is a high-quality gasket, which delivers an enhanced seal and performance and is also visibly different to traditional gasket systems.  This provides a point of differentiation with the end-user and an opportunity to sell against competitors.

“Cost is comparable to standard gaskets but the as a premium product offering significantly improved performance, it offers potentially far higher margins as part of premium offer and the opportunities that that delivers.”

Now extruding more than 10,000 km of gaskets in the last year, alongside weather seals, Glazepta tapes and U-channels, pressure plates, box sections and bi-folding door seals for leading systems, plus an extensive ‘back catalogue’ of extrusions, ExtrudaSeal serves fabricators and installers nationwide.

Customers save an average of 30 to 40 per cent, on gaskets by buying product in from ExtrudaSeal, as a third party, compared to buying it from their systems company.

Extrudaseal will be showcasing its industry-leading range of gaskets and ancillaries at the FIT Show, Stand M55 23-25 May 2017.
