Confidence within the industry seems to be running high as more and more companies announce investment in people, machinery and infrastructure.

In today’s newscast, composite door specialist – and producer of the Lumi frameless window – Apeer, highlights its £285,000 investment in machinery over the last 12 months, with even more planned for 2021. Asa McGillian, Apeer’s managing director, said: “Our investment programme over the past year has been an important part of our commitment to ensuring Apeer can push further with product development, enhance the quality and range we offer, and increase production capacity where it is needed as well as overall efficiency in our factory.”

And Sternfenster has expanded the capacity of its aluminium facility, with the addition of a new Schirmer ALU BAZ Composite Orbit-C machining and cutting centre. Delivered in the autumn and representing a six-figure investment, the new Schirmer further expands Sternfenster’s aluminium bi-fold capability, while also increasing precision and product quality.

In other news, Ultraframe says its online tools are helping its customers navigate the new ways of selling online that we have all had to adapt to through 2020, including an Ultraroof interactive content block that is available free of charge and can easily be added to a customer’s website; home improvement company, SEH BAC, has signed a 5-year partnership agreement with glazing industry marketing agency Purplex; and leading provider of double qualified sales leads for companies operating in the UK home improvement industry, Leads 2 Trade is now providing confirmed appointments for installers – and an installer only pays for the lead if they sit and pitch it.
