With the assistance of Enterprising Barnsley, the business support arm of Barnsley Council, Distinction Doors has benefited from Lean factory planning and manufacturing process improvement support to develop its facility to work efficiently as possible, increase profit margins and create over 40 new jobs within the last three years.

Speaking at the visit, Cllr Cheetham said: “We’re delighted to see the investment that Distinction Doors have made into their facility. What they have managed to achieve is fantastic for them but fantastic for the borough as they’ve created so many jobs for people.

“We know there are plans for them to take this further with additional investment and we’ll be there to offer further support to them.”

Helen Lovack, HR director for Distinction Doors said: “We’re very pleased to welcome Cllr Cheetham to Distinction Doors. Enterprising Barnsley is extremely supportive and proactive, with their backing we have grown and developed our business even during these challenging times. Staff at all levels have benefitted from the new processes and the positive impact is felt throughout the business and by suppliers and customers.”
