DoorCo Celebrates Business Awards Success

Macclesfield-based DoorCo is delighted to kick start the year off with the announcement of two team related wins at the North Cheshire Business Awards: Gold in the Health & Wellbeing category, and Silver in the Team of the Year.

Marketing manager, Ellie Pool, says: “We’re so delighted to have achieved success in the both the categories we entered at the local North Cheshire Business Awards, which took place at the end of last year. Throughout 2023 our focus has been on building strength within the business in order to better support our customers, through investing in our infrastructure and team. So, achieving Silver in Team of the Year and Gold in Health & Wellbeing is the perfect result.

“As a business we firmly believe that happy, healthy employees who have the backing to make independent decisions, equates to greater productivity, profitability and customer satisfaction. This ethos comes from the top down with several key appointments made at senior management level, training programmes to secure internal promotions, and team growth across the board. With the right people in the right places, we have experts across the business from procurement to marketing, technology to manufacturing, distribution, customer services and beyond, and we feel like our Team of the Year accolade is the perfect way to celebrate this.

“Of course, a great team deserve great benefits, so as part of the retention and recruitment drive the senior team took a close look at health and wellbeing initiatives on offer. The aim was to provide greater support for the whole team, ensuring that as employers, DoorCo is doing everything it can to support the general health and wellbeing of the team. This includes the introduction of Mental Health Ambassadors, access to subsidised gym membership, flexible holiday trading which is particularly important for people with families, and generally ensuring the culture is open and accepting of people’s individual circumstances and challenges. Gaining this recognition within our business community and being pitched against all types of organisations – FMG, Pharmaceutical, tourism etc outside of our own industry – and winning, is real recognition that we are setting the benchmark as a top employer with people firmly at our heart.

“Moving forward on this strong foundation, 2024 will be all about the new products we launched in December’s Innovation Week takeover. We are incredibly excited about the future and pleased that the North Cheshire Business Awards has recognised the hard work and dedication of the last 12 months.”
