Derbyshire Seeks Retrofit-At-Scale Answers At Low Carbon Homes Event

 

On Tuesday 6th October, Low Carbon Homes Derbyshire, supported by MCS, goes live online for the first of three days of intense discussion and knowledge-sharing to consider how best Derbyshire can rapidly scale up the retrofitting of housing across the county.

Sixteen presenters from across the UK have been assembled to highlight the opportunities ahead for bold leaders, as the county grapples with the societal and economic impacts of the current pandemic and climate change.

British Woodworking Federation Partners With NOCN (The National Open College Network) To Deliver Fire Door Installation Awareness Course

 

The course will allow learners who wish to improve awareness on installing fire doors across the UK, access to a third-party assured training course

The British Woodworking Federation (BWF) has partnered with an Ofqual Regulated Awarding Organisation the National Open College Network (NOCN), one of the UK’s largest quality assurance providers, to develop a two-day Fire Door Installation Awareness course.

Working together under the NOCN SiteRight brand, the partnership will enhance the availability of quality training, helping to drive-up standards across the construction industry when it comes to fire doors, specifically timber fire doors.

Spectus Flush Casement Windows Revamp A 16th Century Building

 

Spectus flush casement windows have been used in a 16th century building near Chelmsford, Essex. The Pig and Whistle has a long history as a public house but got converted in 2013 to a popular local restaurant.

The replacement windows were undertaken by local domestic installation company, Chignal Windows Ltd who are based near Chelmsford. Luton based fabricator, WeatherBreak Windows, has responded to a marked increase in demand for its high-quality aluminium product range, with the addition of a new AMC308 machining centre from Kombimatec.
