Sternfenster Launches New Alitherm 400 Casement Window

Sternfenster has launched its new Alitherm 400 casement window, which achieves a Window Energy Rating of A with a double-glazed unit, making it fully compliant with Building Regulations for refurbishment projects.  The Alitherm 400 can achieve a U-value of 1.2W/m2K with a triple glazed unit (with a centre-pane U-value of 0.8W/m2K), making it ideal for newbuild properties, claims the company.

According to the company, the 70mm thermally broken aluminium window also boasts leading weather performance, successfully passing: BS EN 1026 (air permeability); BS EN 1027 (water tightness); and BS EN 12211 (wind resistance).

The Business Pilot Barometer

Neil Cooper-Smith, Senior Analyst, Business Pilot:

Average retail sales continued their upward trajectory in 2024 – up 5.1% to 62.1 in March – dispelling fears that 2024 is going to be a complete washout. Average sales for March were also 28.3% higher than the same period last year, demonstrating that the industry is on a better footing than the start of 2023.

But there are caveats. While positive sales figures should be celebrated, we all keep one eye on leads, because they give an indication of what is to come, and at 118.4, average leads for March were 6% lower than February.
