Sternfenster Invests In New High-Speed Glass Line

Sternfenster has installed its new Forel high-speed automatic glass line, promising increased output, greater accuracy, and will future-proof the trade fabricator for an expected increase in demand for triple glazing, according to the company.

“It’s a very clever piece of machinery,” Einars Kalva, glass production manager, said. “It constantly monitors the glass production, and it will tell you immediately if the glass is the wrong size, or if you have put the glass coating the wrong way round.

The Business Pilot Barometer

Are the brakes being applied?

Neil Cooper-Smith, Senior Analyst, Business Pilot:

The figures for April support what most people are experiencing: volume is down. But they also give an indication of what is to come, which isn’t negative – if you are prepared.

At a headline level, average sales are down 10.1% in April, when compared to March 2024, to 55.8, and average leads are down 2.1% to 115.9.

This fall in volume affects those businesses that are geared predominantly to service that part of the market,

Both manufactured using ScreenLine integral blind systems from Italian company Pellini S.p.A., these systems have always offered the easiest installation of the five control systems available from Morley Glass,

Capitalising on the Climate

With summer around the corner, many homeowners’ attentions are turning to their garden, which opens up a big market for balustrading, according to Paul Miller, national sales manager at Bohle.

Diversifying their offering is key to installer’s success in difficult sales climates, believes Bohle’s national sales manager, Paul Miller, as traditional window businesses explore ways that they can extend their market reach.

“At Bohle, we pride ourselves on the choice that we provide installers that offers them new, profitable opportunities,

Sheerline Maintains High Levels Of Customer Satisfaction

Sheerline has revealed how vertical integration, internal communications, and a focus on providing an agile service have enabled it to achieve an OTIF (on time, in full) of 99.1% in February, followed by 99% in March – helping maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.

While benchmarking OTIF to assess performance is not uncommon for manufacturers, Sheerline tracks a particularly harsh standard, monitoring at full order level, not by item.

This means that if a single item is missing from any order (that may contain dozens of items), the full order counts against the overall OTIF score.

From Enquiry To Installation

Effective customer service can help you secure business for the long term, and the right software choice can help you achieve it, according to Cyncly’s Sales Manager Greg Beachim.

It’s a cliché, but a chain is only as strong as its weakest link. And in a manufacturing environment, efficiency is constrained by bottlenecks.

Typically, we think of those bottlenecks as being a slow cutting and machining centre, or not enough people assembling the windows, or even an inefficient dispatch department. But in reality it is any point along the enquiry-to-installation journey.

Trio Of Senior Products Used In New Nottingham Residential Scheme

Three is the magic number for Senior Architectural Systems as solutions from the manufacturer’s range of aluminium windows, doors and curtain walling help complete The Barnum – a new residential development on Nottingham’s Queen’s Road.

The project, which is one of the largest recent developments in the city, has been built on what was a vacant site next to Nottingham’s railway station, helping to regenerate the wider area and provide a boost to the local rental market.

As installers navigate the digital landscape, the significance of a strong online presence cannot be emphasised enough. For installers, creating one-stop shop websites can not only boost their brands but also drive business growth.   The Residence Collection uses its website to display recent installations and offer all the information homeowners, installers, and fabricators require. They also provide expert advice to help boost business growth in the long run by creating key lead generation for all Residence Collection installers and fabricators, according to the company.

Jo Trotman, marketing manager at The Residence Collection and Window Widgets has provided a comprehensive guide on how installers can transform their website into a one-stop shop:

Back To School For Fentrade

Fentrade has recently manufactured and supplied 55 casement windows for Llanidloes High School in Powys as part of the school’s refurbishment programme. Working alongside trade customer Window-Tec based in Builth Wells, Fentrade has helped to upgrade the school with high-quality, energy-efficient aluminium windows.

The school’s original windows were single-glazed and in a poor state of repair. The single glazing meant poor thermal performance which contributed to higher energy bills and excessive carbon emissions. Similarly, the original windows had limited ventilation which negatively impacted the learning environment.
