Stellar Line-Up Of Speakers Secures Glazing Summit As Must-Attend Event


With only a few days left the Glazing Summit promises to inform, educate and connect fabricators, installers and suppliers from across the industry.

The conference takes place on Thursday 12th at Edgbaston Stadium, Birmingham with a packed agenda tackling the key issues facing the industry.

Andrew Scott, founder of the Glazing Summit, commented; “After the buzz of the inaugural Summit last year, our intention for 2019 was to bring together 250 industry leaders for a high-value day. Since the speakers were announced, this has snowballed with almost 300 delegates attending.”


Mackenzie Glass Sees 20 Per Cent Growth In Turnover In First Full Year Of Trading


Mackenzie Glass has reported growth in turnover at 20 per cent in its first full year trading under its new management team and as part of the newly created Cornwall Group.

The independent glass merchant also said that it had seen a ‘Modest return to profit’, attributing growth to increased demand for laminates and the expansion of its product range, including the launch of a second line of fire-rated products.

Mark Herbert, Joint Managing Director, Mackenzie Glass, said: “We started off in 2017 with a business that was turning over around £5million a year. We’ve taken that so that in June at the end of our financial year our turnover was topping £6million


Distinction Doors Score Six For Opacity


Distinction Doors has introduced two new obscure glass options to their offering, expanding their current obscure collection from four to six. ‘DD-Minst’ and ‘DD-Cont’ come as 24mm double glazed units with 6.8mm laminated glass and can be included as stylish modifications to selected door styles across all Distinction ranges.

Over recent months, a number of Distinction’s Business Development Executives reported an increase in customers requesting new, on-trend opaque glass styles in order to help them satisfy similar requests they have been receiving from their own contractor customers. Glazing Finally Represented At BRAC


The glazing industry is now being represented on the Building Regulations Advisory Committee (BRAC) which advises the Secretary of State in England on making Building Regulations and setting standards for building design and construction.

This is welcome news given the upheaval around Building Regulations since the Grenfell Tower tragedy and the overall state of the construction industry.
