Nineteen independent suppliers to the home improvement market have penned an open letter to the fenestration industry, as the sector looks to balance unprecedented demand with global supply chain pressures.

Bosses, from companies including Clayton Glass, Conservatory Outlet, Consort, Emplas, Glazerite UK Group, Nationwide Windows & Doors, Solar Frame and Sternfenster, have joined forces to address several Covid-19 related issues that are currently hampering how they can meet the national appetite for doors, windows, roofing systems and glazing products.

Delivering Certainty For Installers, Says AluFold Direct

What installers want most at the moment is certainty. After so much disruption in the supply chain, they’re quite rightly looking for fabricators who won’t let them down.

There can’t be a single fabricator in the UK that hasn’t had to apologise to customers at some point over the past year because of extended lead times or dips in service levels. Dear Gerald

Dear Gerald,

Supply problems disrupt business. They can even stop it dead. Recently, the shortage of HGV drivers was one of the factors that led to a limited supply of fuel, which caused chaos across the UK.

The largest ports in the world are clogged with container ships and the supply problems of the past 18 months are forecast to continue.

In addition, businesses face unpredictable events. Brisant had a month’s worth of product aboard the Ever Given,
