Yale supports Fire Door Safety Week 2021

 

Yale has pledged its support to Fire Door Safety Week for the fifth year running, underlining the company’s commitment to fire door safety and security.

The annual campaign, which will run from 20-26 September, raises awareness of the critical role that fire doors play in saving lives and protecting property. It draws attention to specific issues such as poor installation and maintenance, aiming to engage and educate specifiers, building owners and the public on fire door safety.

Fire doors are one of the most fundamental elements of a building’s passive fire protection. They act as the first line of defence in a fire and provide those vital minutes for occupants to evacuate the building safely.

Vertik-Al Secures GSB Quality Seal

 

Vertik-Al has recently announced it has once again secured the GSB Quality Seal for Approved Coater Aluminium, achieving Master status.

The Birmingham-based powder coating specialist remains the only applicator in the UK and Ireland to hold the quality seal and has done so for over 27 years, since 1994, claims the company.

GSB International awards quality seals in different levels of quality.  Recipients are tested annually for adherence to the prescribed quality requirements.  Vertik-Al met the demands of GSB AL631-5 for aluminium coating companies.

5 Star Invests £150,000 In New Training Academy

 

One of the West Midlands’ fastest growing home improvement specialists has invested over £150,000 into creating the next generation of fitters, installers and design consultants.

5 Star Windows and Conservatories, which has seen a sales boom since lockdown, has built a new 3,000 sq ft training academy at its Kidderminster showroom that is capable of supporting 100 people every year.

This will cover the company’s existing staff, new recruits, apprentices and several commercial partners, with the idea being to give individuals in-depth product knowledge, access to new design software and updates on the latest industry regulations, as well as continually underlining the firm’s commitment to quality and customer service.

Profile 22’s Optima Windows Help Improve Covid-19 Measures For Tilstock C Of E Primary School

 

Oswestry Windows and Doors has recently transformed Tilstock C of E Primary School in Whitchurch, Shropshire and also improved its Covid-19 ventilation requirements thanks to replacement Optima windows from Profile 22.

The school recently underwent an extensive renovation programme to replace its ageing timber sash windows that were no longer thermally efficient. Furthermore, several of the existing windows would no longer open which meant the school wasn’t able to provide well-ventilated spaces to help minimise the risk to staff and pupils of Covid-19.

The project specification was exacting as thermal efficiency was a critical factor, as was the overall energy efficiency of the building.

Vista Secures New Edge Bander In Less Than 24 Hours

 

Despite the challenges of unforeseeable production difficulties caused by a combination of Brexit, Covid-19, and the unpredictable British weather, award-winning composite door manufacturer Vista Panels has secured new state-of-the-art machinery, ensuring its customers continue to receive a high-quality and seamless service.

Within just 24 hours, the Wirral-based company brought in a brand new AURIGA 1308 XL edge banding machine, after the existing machine was damaged.

“Recent heavy rainfall overwhelmed our premises and caused flood damage to some of our vital manufacturing machinery,” comments Managing Director Keith Sadler.

Alutech Impresses At Harrogate Home

 

Alutech’s versatile BF73 aluminium system was recently used by Huddersfield fabricator, ClearView, for a stunning 9‐pane bifold door, with four panes travelling left and five to the right, in RAL7021 matt black grey, which they installed to the rear of an impressive property in Harrogate, West Yorkshire.

ClearView is one of the largest manufacturers and installers of aluminium bi‐folding doors in the North of England and has used Alutech’s BF73 system for its bifolds for over 3 years, favouring it for its ease of fabrication and installation. The appearance of the system also perfectly complements the other products they offer, which allowed them to fulfil the entire project at the home in Harrogate.
