Epwin Window Systems Achieves PAS24:2022 Across Its PVC-U Systems


Epwin Window Systems has confirmed all its PVC-U window and door systems have achieved PAS24:2022 signalling a commitment to staying at the forefront of industry standards.

Adrian Crutchley, product accreditations manager at Epwin Window Systems, said: “We are delighted to be amongst the first systems companies to be able to confirm that our multiple PVC-U window and door systems have all achieved PAS24:2022 certification. This achievement further demonstrates our commitment to adopting and meeting the latest industry standards to deliver secure and reliable solutions for our customers”.


Revolutionary New Design For DoorCo’s Gripcore


DoorCo has unveiled its latest innovation, version two of Gripcore, which will be available for order in Janaury 2024.

According to DoorCo, Gripcore’s new core is revolutionary compared to anything on the UK market, having evolved into a hybrid timber-foam core that the company says is stronger, more secure and more thermally efficient than solid timber core counterparts. The ‘futureproof’ engineering of the new product is designed to comply with 2025 regulations and beyond.


Glazerite Expands Its Manufacturing Footprint Into Yorkshire


The Glazerite UK Group has opened up operations at its North Division in Barnsley as part of the fabricator’s ambition to secure further growth for its installers. The purpose-built 30,000 sq. ft facility will focus exclusively on the production of Deceuninck 2500 and 2800 profile systems.  

It follows Glazerite’s announcement earlier this year that it had welcomed Deceuninck to its portfolio, with the firm fabricating the 2500 bevelled range of casement and tilt & turn windows, and residential and French doors.


Expert Cornering With hup!


Ultraframe has announced that the hup! lightweight building system is now compatible with variable corners from 90° to 170°, meaning it can now be used to convert old Victorian conservatories into modern extensions – in addition to the multitude of styles already possible with the evolutionary system.

Commenting about the new enhancement to hup!, Alex Hewitt, Ultraframe marketing director, said: “hup! is the ideal choice for converting old, outdated conservatories into modern energy efficient extensions and now this is possible with Victorian styles too.


Elumatec And Emmegi Set To Join Forces In UK


elumatec (UK) and emmegi (UK) have announced plans for a formal collaboration in the UK market, designed to help both businesses deliver an even better service to customers.

The move is part of the ‘One Company’ approach being implemented by the Voilàp Group, which owns both elumatec and emmegi, as well as other well-known brands such as Tekna, Someco and Keraglass.

Distinction Doors Launches New Glass Designs


Distinction Doors has introduced two new decorative glass designs, Chatsworth and Wentworth.

Both styles combine satin glass with clear detailing.  Wentworth features a 25mm wide clear border around a satin centre, while Chatsworth has a 7mm clear pencil border inset 25mm from the satin edge.

The classic designs mean they complement many of the company’s popular door styles.  They are available in sizes to fit the complete nxt-gen range and Signature equivalents,


UAP Broadens Choice Of Duo Handles


UAP has extended its range of Duo door handles.

Fabricators can now choose from a granite finish, which adds to a further five colour options including satin stainless steel, white, black, gold, and mirrored polish.

With a 243mm long backplate, UAP’s Duo door handles are designed to maximise aesthetics and quality. The tube-shaped handle ensures a comfortable grip for the operator and complies with the requirements of the Equality Act (formerly the Disability Discrimination Act).

It has been a busy year for CAB in support of its membership and the wider industry and whilst there are challenges in the supply chain and looking forward into 2024, CAB membership continues to offer an excellent value proposition.

Members have enjoyed two members meetings this year, the first in March where the meeting was held under the wings of the iconic Concorde in Bristol and the second at Manchester’s Museum of Football.


Rehau Preserves Gothic Aesthetic Of A Glasgow Property


Quality Trade Windows, a family-owned window supplier, has transformed the energy performance of a historical luxury residential property in East Kilbride, Glasgow, while retaining its original gothic aesthetics. To meet the private owner’s expectations, bespoke Heritage Vertical Sliding windows were fabricated for the project.

Based in East Kilbridge, Scotland, Quality Trade Windows is a long-established window fabricator. In April 2022, the company was contacted regarding replacing 11 windows in a Victorian property in East Kilbride, where the original single glazing was causing the home to lose a significant amount of heat.


Emplas Takes Receipt Of Four New Low Emission HGVs


Emplas has continued to lower emissions, while increasing the capacity of its nationwide delivery fleet, with the addition of new Volvo FM Rigid HGVs.  The new 18-tonne trucks combine the latest Euro 6 emissions standards with modern aerodynamics, helping to improve fuel efficiency by 50% compared to older models, says the company.

With two vehicles delivered in August and a further three in November, it completes the transition of the Emplas fleet exclusively to low emission Volvo HGVs.

Product Innovation Is The Key To Success, Says VBH
