Modular Group Investments (MGI) Completes Acquisition of Barton Windows

 

Modular Group Investments Limited (MGI), a rapidly growing group focused on acquiring businesses around the off-site manufacturing sector has completed another acquisition this year with the purchase of the entire share capital of Barton Windows Limited, a 35-year-old aluminium fenestration business based in Barton-upon-Humber North Lincolnshire.

The latest acquisition continues to diversify MGI’s customer base and adds huge synergistic value to the group whilst also complementing MGI’s existing aluminium product portfolio of cladding and decking branded ‘Euralite’ launched only last month.

The transaction closed on 14 October 2021. MGI were advised by Hempsons (legal).

Deceuninck UK Processes More Than A Million Linear Metres Of Foiled Product In One Month

 

Deceuninck UK has underlined its position as the UK’s leading supplier of foils and colour by processing more than a million linear metres of foiled product in September, claims the company.

The systems company has invested significantly in its manufacturing capacity, including a multi-million pound spend on new extrusion lines and an additional Luna R automatic profile lamination machine.

Part of a dedicated, state of the art foiling facility at Deceuninck’s 140,000ft2 facility in Calne, Wiltshire, the latest Luna R machines represents the cutting edge of lamination technology.

Liftmaster Quadro First Battery Powered Lifting System To Achieve GS Certification For Safety

 

Bohle’s new LiftMaster Quadro automatic vacuum lifter has been awarded a GS Mark, the first battery powered lifting system to meet the strict requirements for the respected safety accreditation, says Bohle.

The GS Mark, which stands for ‘Geprüfte Sicherheit’, or ‘Certified Safety’, is recognised throughout Europe and is designed to minimise a manufacturer’s risk of liability as well as to provide the confidence that products have been produced to the highest quality.

Capable of handling up to 400kg in its standard four-pad unit, the LiftMaster Quadro can also be configured with four extension arms to cater for loads of up to 800kg.

Mercury Rising In Sliding Door Sales

BMBI Reports Continued Strong Year-On-Year Growth

 

The latest report from the Builders Merchant Building Index (BMBI) reveals that builders’ merchants’ August value sales were 23.0% higher year-on-year, with Timber & Joinery products once again topping the list of best performing categories (+51.5%).

Helped by one more trading day this year, eleven out of the twelve categories sold more in August 2021 compared to August 2020. Heavy Building Materials (+16.9%), Landscaping (+11.5%) and Kitchens & Bathrooms (+11.3%) put in a strong monthly performance. Workwear & Safetywear (-2.7%) was the only category to sell less over the period. Average like-for-like daily sales in August 2021 were up 17.1% on the same month last year.

Modular Construction Market Key Sealant Tape Growth, Says Iso-Chemie

 

The modular house construction market will help to drive window and door foam sealant tape growth in 2022, predicts Andy Swift, sales and operations manager for ISO-Chemie.

He sees the UK market staying buoyant over the next 12 months as the economy continues to recover from the pandemic and building and construction activity remains busy, particular in the face of a chronic national housing shortage and the need to build more affordable housing.

Senior Produces The Goods For Hull’s Fruit Market Development

 

Aluminium doors, windows and curtain walling from Senior Architectural Systems have been used to realise the striking façade design of a new office development, created as part of the wider regeneration of Hull’s historic Fruit Market.

Architectural Ironmongery Specification Awards Celebrate 40th Anniversary With Mega Call For Entries

 

Specifiers can now nominate their projects for the internationally recognised Architectural Ironmongery Specification Awards 2022.

Organised by the Guild of Architectural Ironmongers (GAI) in conjunction with the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), the awards are designed to identify and reward excellence in the specification of architectural ironmongery. Celebrating their 40th anniversary, the AI Specification Awards were postponed last year but have now returned bigger and better, with judges assessing projects completed and products launched over the last three years.

Entries are judged on the effectiveness of the architectural ironmongery specification and how it enhances the security, accessibility and safety of the building, while also adding to its aesthetics, functionality and longevity.
