GGF Advises Caution As Lockdown Eases

 

As lockdown restrictions continue to ease around the UK, the Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF) advises all companies to be cautious and still adhere to the GGF and Government’s guidance to make sure that employees and customer stay safe.

On 12th April, the Government guidance was updated to state that all retail (including showrooms, garden centres and concession stores) in England is now permitted to open. Wales and Scotland re-opened showrooms earlier in April and in Northern Ireland retail is expected to re-open by the end of April. In the Republic of Ireland Government will re-open retail on 4th May.

Saint-Gobain Glass £30m Investment Secures Long-Term Glass Supply In The UK

 

Saint-Gobain Glass has commenced a £30m investment in its glass manufacturing factory in Eggborough, East Yorkshire.

The company is carrying out a major construction programme to completely re-build and install a new state-of the-art float glass furnace, as well as upgrade other areas of the factory, which will secure the long-term supply of consistently high-quality, high-performance glass in the UK.

Cornwall Glass Moves To Reassure Customers On Laminate Supply

 

Cornwall Glass has said it expects to be able to guarantee IGU supply to its established customer base in face of global shortages in the supply of laminates.

With two of the UK’s three float glass manufactures already limiting supply of laminated products, Mark Norcliffe, Joint-Managing Director, Cornwall Glass Manufacturing, said that the IGU sector faced a summer of uncertainty.
