Schüco UK is expanding the Schüco Partner Academy with the introduction of a new Curtain Wall Installation training programme, which is GQA accredited and the first course will be delivered on 29th April 2026.
This course is a practical training course to develop competence in safely carrying out the full installation sequence of the Schüco FWS 50 curtain wall system, which includes site safety practices, correct handling techniques, installation accuracy and defect identification in line with Schüco standards and safety requirements. The initiative reinforces the company’s commitment of supporting partners in meeting the enhanced competence and compliance requirements introduced by the Building Safety Act 2022., says the company.
As regulatory expectations continue to evolve the need for skilled and accountable façade installation has never been greater. The new programme provides practical, system specific training designed to help fabricators and installers improve installation quality, reduce onsite risk and support duty holder responsibilities, claims the company.
Delivered at Schüco UK training facilities in Milton Keynes, the course forms part of the Academy’s comprehensive development offering, which includes systems knowledge, fabrication, installation and wider industry requirements.
Key areas covered in addition to ensuring PPE and workplace safety requirements are understood the course includes:
- Set out of mullions accurately
- Assemble and align mullions
- Install transoms in correct numerical sequence
- Fit deflector blocks, expansion pieces and rebate gaskets
- Apply EPDM boundary, attachment and balancing profiles
- Carry out glazing installation safely
- Fit pressure plates and cover caps
- Conduct quality checks and identify common faults
The course is GQA certified and every attendee will be assessed at every step of the training to ensure competence is achieved. Upon successful completion of the course the attendees will receive a skills card to evidence their competence.
