Surface Protection Set To Be Launched By MACO

April 2020 was set to see MACO exhibit at the world’s biggest window and door exhibition, Fensterbau Frontale in Nuremberg. Fensterbau Frontale is a hive of innovations and product launches from across the industry and MACO was set to be showing and launching a range of new products and release the next updates in their concept creations.

One of the biggest launches from the array of innovations from MACO was to present the next evolution of surface protection. Silverlook Evo the new and exclusive surface hardware protection technologies with self-healing properties – “tribologically sealed”. The new Evo surface protection has a self-lubricating surface that reduces friction and corrosion ensuring that the fittings remain protected for longer. As with human skin, which heals itself when minor injuries occur, the nano-capsules within the top layer act as a reservoir for both lubricants and corrosion protective substances. If the surface becomes damaged, the substances contained within the nano-capsules are released and fill the damaged area.

“this sealant is unique within the industry” says MACO, and adds: “this technology reduces friction and increases the functional life and ease of use by a significant amount.”

Silverlook-Evo is the evolution formed through decades of experience within MACO’s expert knowledge and internal electro galvanising surface protection processes. From this expertise Silverlook Evo was born paired with the tribological sealing.

Fittings made of steel or zamak are galvanized, passivated and sealed with the layer of nano-capsules. This offers protection and an elegant appearance in equal measure, abrasion and wear have no chance. The optimally coordinated layer structure increases the service life and corrosion resistance.

Users benefit from a greater ease of use thanks to the improved sliding properties. Processors appreciate the reduced levels of grease that get onto hands making for a cleaner work area. The appearance of the Silverlook-Evo is unchanged from the previous Silverlook finish, so manufacturers can change over without any noticeable change in design.

MACO is working on introducing the new Evo surface technologies across all of its manufacturing and surface technology sites, replacing the existing surface coatings

MACO Evo coatings do not only meet the product quality needs, but also the latest legal requirements in environmental protection and sustainability, completely without paint and chrome VI.
