The 2019 FENSA Installation of the Year has been awarded to The Sash Window Expert Ltd. The winning installation was chosen from over 560,000 jobs, and presented at the G-Awards on 29th November.
“This is the third year we’ve run the Installation of the Year award and the standard of the work of all the finalists was incredible,” said Chris Beedel, FENSA’s Director of Membership. “Each year it gets harder and harder to pick a winner, so congratulations to everyone who made the shortlist and particularly to Rupert Hardwick at The Sash Window Expert Ltd for such a brilliant job.”
The FENSA Installation of the Year award recognises the value of combining technical expertise with exemplary customer care. This year’s winning installation was for timber sliding sash windows, manufactured to reproduce the house’s original windows by matching those of the next-door property, including very detailed arches. The installer recommended new architraves which were machined to match the originals, which had lost definition under years of paint, and the window fittings were individually coloured to each room. The finished windows were noted for sliding exceptionally well and leaving a noticeable improvement in sound reduction.
Demonstrating fantastic customer service, before work commenced The Sash Window Expert Ltd directed the customer to a local job and previous satisfied customers when they requested references. The installer made multiple visits to ensure the windows were correct, and, once work began, the house was covered in plastic sheeting that was removed and cleaned up each day, to leave the house spotless. The installer was also commended for patching rendering, painting the outside to match, taking down the curtains and replacing them, and repairing existing damage along the way.
Dave Mechem, Director of Operations at RISA, the sole provider of inspection services for FENSA, commented: “It always gives me great pleasure visiting the winning installation because the eye for detail and level of attention given to every element of the job is outstanding. The Sash Window Expert Ltd went above and beyond the clients’ high expectations and is a very deserving winner.”
“I was utterly shocked but very pleased to be part of the awards,” said winner Rupert, who beat finalists Stephen Bassett Conservatory Windows & Doors and Crescent Windows Ltd to win the award. “It just goes to show that even the smallest of companies do get recognised and can achieve great things.”
